PicViewer is a utility that I wrote for managing folders full of pictures. It opens each picture sequentually and displays a thumbnail image of the picture. The picture can then be viewed full size in a seperate window. PicViewer uses QuickTime so pictures can be exported to any supported QuickTime format
PicViewer lets you rename and delete files easily. You can also use the file and folder icons in the PicViewer window to drag the file or its parent folder to a new location or into an application such as the Desktop Pictures or Appearance control panels. There is a quick open button that opens a folder called "Desktop Pictures" inside a folder called "Appearance" in the System Folder. It is a standard folder in Mac OS 8.5 through 9.0. If you are running an earlier system version, you can create the two folders in your System Folder, store your desktop pictures there, and use PicViewer to easily manage your pictures or simply select the folder of your choice in the preferences section.
The PicViewer window can be collapsed so that only the controls and filename are displayed. When the window is collapsed, the picture is not loaded so you can move quickly through files looking for the one you want by name.
The preferences for PicViewer are few but conveniently located in the PicViewer window and can be displayed or hidden.
